Case Study Info:
Case study category MonoplanTo fully exploit the floor space at the new conference facility, four positions across the hall were identified for track runs to carry movable walls. The challenge that Becker faced was to supply 2 walls to occupy these 4 positions, each movable wall designed to be set up and perform equally in 2 locations 20 metres long and 7.6 metres high. The problem to overcome was to ensure that panels set up along one run of track and adjusted for level and plumb would align and interlock when set up in the second track run. It only takes a very slight difference in deflection of the supporting structure along the second run for problems to occur. Becker engineers came up with a unique design that allows each wall panel to assume plumb alignment in any position regardless of the fact that they are supported by two rollers which are spaced apart at the top of each panel frame.
